The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the registration schedule for the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) 2024. The deadline for USAT applications is set for April 14, 2024, with the test scheduled to take place on April 28, 2024. Administered by the Higher Education Commission, also known as the Education Testing Council (ETC), the USAT is a prerequisite for undergraduate admissions to universities throughout Pakistan.

Covering a wide range of undergraduate entry-level subjects including engineering, medicine, information technology, management, and social sciences, the USAT follows a structure similar to the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Successful completion of the USAT grants students eligibility for admission to all universities, mirroring the process for SAT qualifications.

  • Registration can be completed by visiting http://etc.hec.gov.pk.
  • For online assistance, please refer to onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or visit HEC regional offices.
  • The application submission process involves two stages: profile completion and test application.
  • Applications will only be considered if they have been submitted; applications saved or left incomplete will not be processed.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or its equivalent, equivalent to Grade 12 education.
  • Students who are awaiting the results of their final examinations.
  • Students possessing 12 years of education or its equivalent in any field of study.

Test Structure:

PART I:

  • There are 75 multiple-choice questions to be completed within 100 minutes.
  • The verbal reasoning section consists of 35 questions.
  • The quantitative reasoning section consists of 40 questions.

PART II:

  • This section has a duration of 40 minutes.
  • The essay writing component requires a response of 400-500 words, graded out of 25 marks.

Scoring and Qualification:

  • A qualifying USAT score is defined as 50 or higher.
  • The maximum achievable score is 100

Test Fee:

  • The USAT test fee is PKR 1,750/- per candidate.
  • Candidates can deposit the fee through participating banks, ATMs, Internet banking, Mobile App, EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or UPaisa.
  • Online payment verification can be done on the ETC dashboard.
  • The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
